Tarangire National Park is a national park in Tanzania’s Manyara Region. The name of the park originates from the Tarangire River that crosses the park. The Tarangire River is the primary source of fresh water for wild animals in the Tarangire Ecosystem during the annual dry season. The Tarangire Ecosystem is defined by the long-distance migration of wildebeest and zebras. During the dry season thousands of animals concentrate in Tarangire National Park from the surrounding wet-season dispersal and calving areas.

It covers an area of approximately 2,850 square kilometers (1,100 square miles.) The landscape is composed of granitic ridges, river valley, and swamps. Vegetation is a mix of Acacia woodland, Combretum woodland, seasonally flooded grassland, and baobab trees.

Tour Plan

Day 1

Depart with the 8:00am Coastal flight from Dar es Salaam to Arusha. Upon arrival (10:40) you will be met and transferred to Tarangire National Park (2.5 hours roughly). Switch to your safari vehicle at the gate and proceed the camp for a hot lunch. In the afternoon proceed on game drives. Tarangire is famous for it’s many elephants as well as being home to many predators. Arrive at your camp in the evening to a hearty meal. Overnight in the Corfield Camps. FB.

Day 2

Enjoy an early breakfast, followed by two half day game drives returning to your camp for a hot lunch. In the evenings return to the camp to find a bonfire and a hearty meal under the stars. Overnight at Corfield Camps. FB.

Day 3

After an early breakfast, enjoy a final morning game drive as you transfer to the gate to exit and transfer back to Arusha with a packed lunch. Catch the 12:45am Coastal flight back to Dar (ETA 14:50pm). Services end.
