Visa Requirements

Most visitors require a visa to enter Tanzania.

Application Process

• Apply online through the Tanzania eVisa system (https://visa.immigration.go.tz/) – ideal for tourist visas.
• Apply in person at the Tanzanian embassy or consulate in your home country.

Required Documents

• Original passport with at least 6 months validity from your travel date and at least one blank visa page.
• Completed visa application form.
• Proof of travel health insurance.
• Flight itinerary and/or accommodation booking confirmation.
• Yellow fever vaccination certificate (if applicable).
• Two recent passport-sized photographs.
• Visa application fee (payable online or at the embassy/consulate).

Additional documents for specific visas

• Business visa: Business invitation letter and company documents.
• Multiple-entry visa (for US citizens): May require additional documentation compared to a single-entry visa.
